Last Week of School

(So, I realize the last week of school was almost 3 weeks ago. I have just now gotten my energy back from being on the go nonstop. I will be trying to get us up-to-date as best I can.)

The end of the year ended with a BANG. I feel like they tried to cram as much as they could in the last week of school. First up on the agenda, field day. Field day was one of my favorite days when I was in elementary school. I was so excited for Jackson to get to participate in his first field day. The day was eventful to say the least...it rained, and when I say rained, I mean POURED!!!!
We sported garbage bags and had fun anyway. They played kickball, parachute games, and relay races in the rain. It was any boys dream day. They got to get wet and muddy and no one had a problem with it. (The little girls were less than thrilled about the rain. It was so funny to see the difference between the two.)
I even sported a trash bag. I call this my "wet dog" look...and I am working it!
We had a picnic and the kids colored with chalk. (*Note to self: After the next storm, go outside and play with chalk. The colors were so vibrant when they got wet.) I signed Jackson out of school early and we had a "day date" before we went to pick up Hudson. We went home and changed into dry clothes and went to Target to look at toys.

The last week of school started on Monday with a field trip to the AgriCenter. The kids loved it...a real life farmer talked to them.
We toured the farmers market and talked about fruits and vegetables. They learned about seeds and how plants grow.
The farmer read the class a book...
...then we got to go on a hayride around the complex and check out the farming and equipment they have.
Hudson was excited that he got to tag along on his first field trip. He seriously talked about it for a week!
I am so proud of this class of kiddos. They have had a wonderful year. I am still baffled at how fast this year went!
